Because we have an ultimate commitment to be faithful to the Word of God, we are also a confessional church.
First, this means we confess the ecumenical creeds of the early church, which mark out a specific definition of what we believe about the Triune God and the God-Man Jesus Christ. These creeds include the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Definition of Chalcedon.
Secondly, as a member of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church we bind ourselves openly to the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms. While there have been some revisions to the original 1646 confession, the ARP’s version, enacted in 1799, of the Westminster Confession is a bit different from other Presbyterian churches in North America.
Lord’s Supper Information
On Lord’s Days when we are celebrating the Lord’s Supper (usually the first Sunday of the month) if you are visiting with us for the first time and would like to participate in the Lord’s Supper during the morning service, please come by 10:45AM so that you can briefly meet with one of our elders to confirm that you are a baptized Christian and a member in good standing of a Christian church. It is the responsibility of the Ruling Elders and the Minister of this congregation to oversee the spiritual health of all people who come to the table and it is one we take seriously.
We do use real wine in the service of the Lord’s Supper.
